Iryn Namubiru Lawyers Ask For Singer To Be Extradited To France

Representatives of jailed singer Iryn Namubiru have asked top Japan lawmakers to ‘at least’ extradite the artiste to France.

Her family and law representatives believe Iryn- who is a French citizen from her marriage to Frenchman Frank Morel- stands a fat chance in France since she is a first time offender with a clean criminal record. Talented Iryn was arrested in Tokyo Japan in possession of 2kgs of MDMA. MDMA, also known as Ecstasy, is a banned drug in many countries.

The drug Iryn was found with is estimated to be worth around USD400, 000 on the black market. Although Iryn has

strongly denied any knowledge of the drug, she remains the prime suspect in the eyes of Japan police and authority. She actually blames her manager and alleged brother Thaddeus Mubiru and a Japan based Uganda promoter Kiim Ueno for her troubles. If she is found guilty, she could face a very strong prison sentence including death.

MDMA popularly known as ecstasy, is a synthetic, psychoactive drug that has similarities to both the stimulant amphetamine and the hallucinogen mescaline. It produces feelings of increased energy, euphoria, emotional warmth and empathy toward others, and distortions in sensory and time perception. MDMA was initially popular among White adolescents and young adults in the nightclub scene or at “raves” (long dance parties), but the drug now affects a broader range of users and ethnicities.
