Jose Chameleone has secretly told close pals that NTV hijacked his Talent XP idea. The Leone Island boss claims that the show was originally his brainchild. The singer said he took the idea to NTV Managing Director Agnes Konde, and it was meant to be called The Leone Island Academy. In the Leone Island Academy, Chameleone and NTV personnel were meant to identify and nurture talent from across the country.
According to pals, Chameleone main objective was to prove and show Uganda and the world that he is a selfless artiste who promotes talent. Over the years Chameleone has been accused of failing or trying to fail several musicians in the Leone Island. Some of these are Papa Cidy, Chagga, Moze Radio, Skeleton among others.
It is said that he (Chameleone) always favors his younger brothers like AK 47, Weasel, and Pius Lizard who are obviously less talented. Therefore in order to make good, the singer had planned on introducing a television talent show where Ugandans would witness his selfless persona. However when NTV hijacked his idea, the singer decided to keep quiet owing to the fact that he has some rich history with NTV boss Konde. While still marketing director of Pepsi, Konde approved shs150 million for Chameleone in the Moto Moto promotion last year.
As a result Chameleone felt he had her debt. It is no doubt that earlier reports had indicated that the singer had demanded for shs1.5 million a day to be a judge on NTV’s Talent XP. Meanwhile socialite and marketer Ben Mwiine also claims to be the brain behind Talent XP. Watch this space!
