All is not well in late businessman Joseph Behakanira’s home. Family sources tell this website that the wife to the fallen businessman, Mary Goodra Behakanira is facing stiff resistance from her children as she tries to sell off J&M Airport Hotel located along Entebbe road. Reliable information on our desk indicates that the children led by Morris Arinaitwe Behakanira have blocked their mom from selling their late dad’s property including the hotel. Negotiations for the sale of the plush hotel were already ongoing with businessman Sudhir Ruparelia showinginterest in buying.
The National Resistance Movement (NRM) had also been courted as a potential buyer although first lady Janet Museveni is said to be strongly against it.
Early last year the government has set its sights on an estimated 100 acres of land, including the piece housing the hotel in Bwebajja, Entebbe road.
President Museveni urged government to consider buying it to house some ministries.
Born in 1955 in Ruhama Ntungamo district, Behakanira collapsed and died suddenly at his home in 2010. He was better known for Avemar Shopping Arcade.
