The High Court in Kampala has handed former Cranes and SC Villa manager, Chris Mubiru a life following a 10-year jail term conviction on sodomy charges.
Allegations against Mubiru emerged in 2009 when a video emerged of him sodomizing young men. Court then convicted him and handed himjail term of ten years. However, Mubiru appealed against the ruling saying trial magistrate erred when he considered evidence from a video which had not been tendered in court.
High Court Justice Wilson Musene Masalu faulted the Magistrate’s court of wrongly convicting Mubiru based on absent evidence. Justice Masalu further ruled that it was wrong for the victim not to report to police until 2013, having been allegedly sodomized in 2009.
