A 53-YEAR OLD Uganda has been found dead at the Schiphol airport in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Michael Odong left Entebbe International Airport in Uganda aboard KLM Airlines on Saturday morning for Geneva, Switzerland via Amsterdam. He was found dead at Schiphol Airport on Monday.
“Information confirmed,” said an official at Uganda Media Centre.
“This was an Assistant Commissioner in chargeof Agrochemicals and was travelling to Geneva on official work.”
Odong was born on September 30, 1963 in Gulu district, Northern Uganda.
Postmortem results in Netherlands indicate that the 53-year-old died of natural causes as confirmed by the Netherlands Embassy in Kampala.
This is the third high-level Uganda government official to die abruptly on a plane in less than a year. Then Internal Affairs minister Aronda Nyakairima aboard an Emirates Airline plane while returning from South Korea.
