CULTURAL TOURISM, or culture tourism, is the subset of tourism concerned with a country or region’s culture. Specifically, it is about the lifestyle, of the people, their history, art, food, architecture, religion, traditions, and yother tangible and intangible elements that helped shape their way of life.
Uganda is endowed with diverse cultural tourism potential but not well packaged and marketed to the wider global markets. One of the reasons cited forthis pale growth is low funding by government and the absence of investment incentives to those that intend to venture into this section of tourism.
But as majority await government to occasion miracles in Uganda’s biggest export earning sector, Mary Ingabire seems to have already discovered her mission and is ready to fulfill it. She’s the brain behind the must-attend Global Cultural Event due this August 13th, 2017 at the monumental Uganda museum.
May be this could be one of those initiatives that’ll see government shift it’s perception about the sector towards sounding focus.
