UGANDAN RAGGAMUFFIN Ziza Bafana could be set for big things, if we are to go by his own words.
The singer has revealed to this website that his new song Katonda Wa Ragga is being considered for a Grammy Award nomination.
The Grammy Awards (originally called Gramophone Award), or Grammy, is an honor awarded by The Recording Academy to recognize outstanding achievement in the mainly English-language music industry. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by prominent artists, and the presentation of those awards that have a more popular interest. It shares recognition of the music industry as that of the other performance awards such as the Emmy Awards (television), the Tony Awards (stage performance), andthe Academy Awards (motion pictures).
The next Grammy awards will take place early next year.
According to Bafana, he could scoop a nomination. He told us: “I hope this finds you well, I value you on my A+ List so I wish to invite you to subscribe to my Vevo Channel and for that same reason I have invited you with a NEW video Upload of my song Katonda Wa Ragga a song that is being considered for the 60th Grammy Nominations soon to end this month.”
The singer further revealed that he is talking to Julian Ricardo Marley, one of late great Bob Marley’s sons.
However he (Bafana) did not divulge into the details of his talks with Julian Marley.
“We’ve had so much love from the world including the Bob Marley first family. Julian Marley embracing the talent and promotion going on,” the talented dancehall star told us.
