NEW KID on the political block Hon Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has said Bill Gates and his wife Melinda are his personal friend, therefore his invite to America last week was no coincidence.
The celebrated singer made the claims last evening while appearing on NTV last evening during an interview with Douglas Lwanga, the NTV the Beat presenter.
The Kyadondo East Member of Parliament was in the States on the invitation of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as a speaker at the Global Peace Keepers conference in New York.
Then he said: “I was honoured to share a platform with world leaders, great businessmen and icons that included President Barack Obama, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada, Prime Minister Narendra Damodardas of India, HerMajesty Queen Rania of Jordan, the C.E.O of Vodafone, the C.E.O of Wikipedia Marissa Mayer, Nobel prize winner Malala, Will-i-am of Black Eyed Peas, Trevor Noah and many other influential personalities from the world over.
My communication mainly focused on MAKING DECISIVE POLITICAL CHANGE that requires citizens especially the youth to not only hold the leaders and decision makers accountable but to actually take a step and become the leaders and decision makers. This was a special opportunity for me to interact with the world movers and shakers for the benefit of Kyadondo East and Uganda at large.
I thank you Bill Gates and your dear wife Melinda for the invitation and hospitality.”
However many Ugandans seemed not convinced saying one applies to be invited to attend the conference.
As a reply to the people he referred to as haters, Bobi insisted Bill Gates is his man.
Appearing on TV, Bobi said: “Bill Gates and his wife Melinda are my personal friends. Abo ba cyali bange.”
