The blossoming Uganda comedy industry could be set for a sensational meltdown with top local comedians at war.

Best friends Alex Muhangi, Patrick Salvado no longer see eye to eye

In a missive titled THE TRUTH, talented comedian Alex Muhangi has finally opened a can of worms revealing why his Comedy Store outfit quit Diners Lounge bar for neighbouring The 400 Lounge.

Muhangi held his maiden comedy show at his new home The 400 just last week.

And it was successful while the show at Diners flopped after KCCA confiscated their sound equipment.

But that’s not the point.

Muhangi has finally revealed he was sabotaged by fellow comedians to be thrown out of Diners.

In the message, Muhangi describes how his ‘brothers’ betrayed him.

Xclusive UG can confirm that the brothers Muhangi talks about are Ronnie Mcvex and Patrick Salvado Indringi.

Idringi, this website can confirm, fronted his brother to spearhead the sacking of Muhangi from Diners Lounge.

Muhangi who had earlier decided to remain civil and not go public finally broke down and exposed the dirty linen rocking the young comedy industry.

Here is his statement: “I used to think Our Gov’t had fought all the Rebels.

Today’s Rebels are within, watch out for the ones closest to you.

They’re praying to take your Job, to take whatever you’ve tirelessly worked to achieve.

Much as you think you’re doing them good, they walk closer to you, waiting for that one chance for you to Press one eye, look aside and they take u down.

So I say, if you still love someone, be it a Job, home whatever it is that you feel you can’t let go. Please Hold on it.

A couple of weeks ago, we had amidst us the most rated Comedy Show in our land, very successful well produced and very funny, I was Starting to get comfortable I didn’t realise Rebels were on Standby.

Within just two weeks out of town, I dashed out to host

The UNAA Convention in Miami, we almost lost “Comedy Store”,

My “friends” while i was away, came in into my former home with all these Promises under the umbrella “We can do it better than Muhangi”

managed to convince the management which gave them a chance, when I came back from the US in a few days I had to go host The UK Convention too,

by the time i came back it was too late for me but I never saw it coming, Living in Denial,

the management was already convinced but they couldn’t say because I still had one BIG Eric Omondi Show to do.

After the Successful Show, those of you who came, you saw it, it had Bebe Cool on as well.

This is when the management showed me its true colours, they arrogantly refused to clear their side of bargain, indirectly asking me to leave.

I had to look for money to clear the debts.

Two days after, We met I had thought they would change their minds of which they didn’t, we understood each other, shook hands, agreed to disagree, so i was on the street.

Because we have a TV Show, Sponsors and a great audience this demanded Us to find a new Venue.

It did not take a day, I saw my brothers being advertised that they will have a Show at Diners.

I thought it was a Joke.

It’s funny today they feel I am in their Space, I should not be doing a Show.

What hurts me is that these are my brothers, we’ve been through a lot together, the same people I would call at Diners and pay them their worth.

#peoplecanchange

Guys we’re Family, this will not develop but rather break us.

All Muhangi did was to create a platform where every Comedian would be honoured with Respect and earn a Reasonable pay.

As an industry we can only reach if we work together not when we fight.

When I asked, why my friends were stabbing me in the back, they said Mbu..”we’re just doing it for the money”.

Ahem.

So please I hope this clears the Air, People stop saying this & that..

We’re Happy still serving our lovely Comedy Store Fans at our Fresh New home The 400 Bar & Restaurant.

Please make it a point to come laugh with us this Thursday.”
