President Yoweri Museveni contributed Shs20 million towards the burial of fallen music producer Daniel Mukisa aka Danz Kumapeesa.
Kumapeesa died on Saturday morning after more than three months battling injuries sustained from an attack by unknown thugs in Busabala Kampala.
Following his death it emerged president Museveni had authorised his team to work on transporting the producer to Nairobi Kenya for better medical care.
But sadly he died before that could be effected.
And then the president contributed Shs20 million to help on a decent burial, a rather rare ggesture towards just anothermusic composer.
Xclusive UG can now reveal that the president extended the gesture because of Kumapeesa’s involvement in the Tubonga Naawe project.
We can reveal that Kumapeesa produced the Tubonga Naawe song that was Museveni’s 2016 presidential campaign song.
The song featured top Ugandan artistes like Bebe Cool, Jose Chameleone, Juliana Kanyomozi, Moze Radio, Weasel, Irene Namubiru, Rema Namakula among others.
The song was instrumental in the president’scampaign trail with the featured artistes using it to rally fans all over the country.
“President Museveni never forgets his people, he felt it was important to be part of Ugandans standing with Danz,” a source said.
We hear Kumapeesa’s situation only got to Museveni in his life’s final days.
