Talented rapper Jocelyn Keko Town has been granted Canadian citizenship after coming revealing she’s lesbian.

Keko, considered to be Uganda’s best all time female rapper, has always been rumored to be les, but no one could prove it.

Infact she was at one point said to be in a relationship with fellow musician Sheebah Karungi.

Like already said that was just a rumor.
But now, Keko has confirmed her status.
“My gay ass is free yes free and there will be a wedding you best believe,” Keko wrote on Twitter.

“I’ve always been a tomboy,” Keko told Public Radio International (PRI) in a recent interview.

“That’s the funny thing growing up like — even my aunties in the village, they look at me now and they are like, ‘Ah, that one’s always been like that. We know she’s always been like that.”

According to the interview, the performer was the

one who then asked to specifically talk about “the LGBT thing” and her sexuality.

“I’m sure everybody in the entire country knows I’m gay,” Keko said. “They are probably still [in] denial, but I’m not.”

The girl from Tororo explained that she hoped that coming out would help young people struggling with their sexuality, as well as dispel the idea that homosexuality is “unAfrican”.

“I speak on it because there are so many kids out there that are like that … people always have that notion where they say, ‘Oh, [being gay] is such a Western thing, they are copying it from the movies.’ So, I speak on it because people need to live freer lives.

“And this is Africa. So, there is still a lot of time before that happens. But if they can look back and be like, ‘Well, Keko was not afraid to be open about it and stand up for herself, then I can just be myself’.”
