Radio consultant Joel Isabirye has said Bobi Wine is still an amateur to be Uganda president.
All indications show Kyadondo East legislature Bobi Wine real name Robert Kyagulanyi is considering running against President Yoweri Museveni for president in 2021.
And this has caused huge excitement among many Ugandans especially the youth who view him as their savior.
But Isabirye, who has worked with major radio stations in Uganda, believes it is to early for Bobi.
Isabirye wrote on Facebook: “I would not find it appropriate to support someone who has just become a member of parliament and wants only a year later to become president.”
He added: “When managing a radio station, I cannot promote a presenter who has worked for one month to program director. I would be a joke. I would prefer he under studies that position for at least five years before I can take the risk…even then I would put himon probation for another five years as program director.”
Isabirye added that Bobi has spent most of his youthful life with fellow musicians and thus can’t successfully manage a country with over 30 million people.
“To compare Bobi Wine to Museveni is like comparing a senior six vacationist to a university professor. That I think is not right. Museveni worked with Samora Machel, Julius Nyerere, and all those revolutionaries that African history is made of in the 1970s to 1980s. Bobi Wine worked with Master Parrot, Buchaman, Nubian Li, did some collabos with Mampi, Lytto Boss, and I think he did a song with Wahu at some point, then worked with scores of producers and others of the music ecosystem circa 1990s to date.
Museveni has managed the state for over 30 years, Bobi Wine has spent one year as an elected leader. Who of the two would have more experience for you to trust?” Isabirye further states.
