The police in Kampala are hunting for a woman identified as Kobusingye Sandra Munywezi, who was working with a Nongovernmental organization called Mamawauganda
Kobusingye, hitherto a counselor, is alleged to have fled the country after learning that criminal summons were issued against her for recruiting young girls into lesbian acts.
It is alleged that while working as a counselor with Mamawauganda, Kobusingye recruited several girls into lesbianism under the guise of getting them sponsors from abroad to pay school fees for them. Her vice came to light after she appeared in a newspaper article in Red Pepper, a local tabloid, on July 29th, 2018.
That was after one of the victims’ parents identified as Male Kiwanuka dragged Kobusingye to Kajjansi police, where he reporteda case of domestic violence and sexual assault against her vide file number SD 69/04/07/2018. It is said that ever since she learnt that the police were hunting for her to answer the above charges, Kobusingye fled into hiding to evade arrest and she is suspected to have sneaked out of the country. However, her victims’ lawyers of Luzige, Kamya, Kavuma & Company advocates continued pursuing the matter and Makindye court has since issued an arrest warrant for Kobusingye to answer the charges lodged against her.
The warrant of arrest is dated September 14th, 2018 and was issued by Justice Angom Alice.
