Thadius Ssempagala, a Ugandan biomedical scientist operating in Kasangati, Kampala, also a resident of Buloba village, in Wakiso district, is reported to have fled the country early October this year, just two weeks after the People Power mobilizer MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine had returned from USA, where he had for treatment.
According to Joshua Kalyesubula, a close relative of Ssempagala, the biomedical scientist was among the pro People Power activists who were involved in mobilising themasses to welcome Bobi Wine at Entebbe airport. Even Ssempagala’s wife and children have since deserted the home and retreated to their mother’s home village in Buikwe, after plain clothed security personnel men raided their home hunting for their father.
Kalyesubula further reveals that Ssempagala’s wife has since then lost contact with her husband. Meanwhile, People Power coordinator also Bobi Wine’s elder brother Joseph Nyanzi commonly known as Chairman Nyanzi also expressed concern regarding the disappearance of their mobilizer over a month ago, and although he couldn’t divulge, he agreed that several people power supporters have either gone missing or arrested over trumped up charges.
