Socialite Don Nasser, also known as Isaac Nduhukire, is out of jail and back to his old ways of spending big.
Xclusive UG can confirm that Nasser was released shortly before the new year and immediately picked from where he left.
On New Year’s alone, the young socialite spent over Shs10 million at The Pearl of Africa hotel in Kampala.
“He booked a table at Shs5 million and bottles expensive bottles of liquor including Belaires and champagne. The boy’s back,” an eyewitness said.
It is not clear exactly when, and how he was released fromprison.
Don Nasser was charged with a case of obtaining money by false pretence before being remanded to Kigo prison.
Nasser’s lawyer Wycliff Tumwesige had filed a ‘non condition’ bail application for his client but the chief magistrate declined to hear the application. The suspect rather took a plea of “not guilty,” before being remanded.
Nasser faces charges of obtaining money by false pretence, allegedly having conned Johnny Hill a 56-year old American national of US$700,000 (over Sh 2bn) in a gold scam.
Johnny Hill, however, did not explain how he was conned by Nasser, only saying he had all the proof of payment to the socialite.
Nasser also faces a similar charge of conning a Russian lady of US$5m, having failed to deliver 95kg of gold even after he was paid.
