Celebrated Gambian music star David Jay is in Kampala to perform at fast raising television station, STV Uganda, this Saturday 1 February.

The talented musician jetted into the country a few days ago ahead of the invite only event to take place at Pearl of Africa hotel.

While addressing a press conference at Pearl of Africa Hotel lady evening, the star musician said he is honored and excited to be in Uganda to perform at the all invite show sponsored by STV Uganda owned by businessman Sulaiman Kabangala Mbuga aka SK Mbuga.

STV Uganda which will be an entertainment and educative station with 70% broadcast in English will officially launch in April this year. And station will

hold monthly activations in which fans will get a chance to meet, mix and mingle with various African superstars.

SK Mbuga, the station’s proprietor said the station is mostly targeting the young generation. The station- already accessible on Gotv, will as well be connected on DStv, StarTimes, Azam to give viewers more choices. The set up is in final stages.

On employment, the tycoon said the station will groom and employee its own staff unlike most TV stations which poach from other stations. “We want to groom our own, we aren’t employing those already experienced. This will give a chance to everyone to come in and try out something new,” SK Mbuga said.

Tonight’s event at Pearl of Africa is expected to feature Kampala’s A listers.
