Nyanzi today saw Magistrate Ereemye Muwanga’s ruling in her favour on two court contestations against government.

The magistrate granted Nyanzi’s request to halt the state’s demand to subject her to involuntary mental test until the constitutional court judges on a petition against the archaic Mental Treatment Act (1938).

He also denied the state’s request for her bail to be cancelled because of claims that he recent Facebook posts break the subjudice rule.

And the ruling sent Nyanzi and her legion of supporters into ecstasy before she hit facebook to share the good news.

She wrote:
“My hope in Uganda’s justice

system is restored! I am drinking red wine brought from Italy by a good friend, to celebrate Magistrate Ereemye Muwanga’s ruling on two issues. Some of our judicial officers are incorruptible by the leopard’s patronage and phone calls bearing “executive orders”! This magistrate rocks…

He granted my request to halt the state’s demand to subject me to involuntary mental test until the constitutional court judges my petition against the archaic Mental Treatment Act (1938).

He also denied the state’s request for my bail to be cancelled because of claims that my recent Facebook posts break the subjudice rule.

Tomorrow we resume the fight in the constitutional court, and the criminal court. Tonight, we pour libation to all the gods and our ancestors working hard to move our victories against Uganda’s dictators! A big toast to my lawyers, sureties, family, friends and allies who contribute towards all the legal fees.”
