The Commander in Chief(CiC) and President of the Republic of Uganda, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has ordered fallen four star General, Elly Tumwine be flown to his ancestral home for burial after today’s (Monday) official public funeral at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.

We were advised not to [take the body to Parliament] In the military, we work by orders.
the UPDF spokesperson, Brig Felix Kulayigye, told Daily Monitor.
Xclusive UG has now that the orders were from President Museveni who said ‘he couldn’t let MPs disrespect and ashame his gallant soldier in Parliament.’

Since his death, Tumwine has been a subject of ridicule by some Ugandans on both social and traditional media. Notably, Kiira Municipality legislator Hon. Semujju Nganda’s words are said to have heart Tumwine’s family.

And Museveni is said to have felt bad by what has transpired and called off the Parliamentary session in honor of Tumwine.
Calls by deputy speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa to convince Museveni otherwise fell on deaf ears.
In his eulogy at Kololo, Museveni said Tumwine had achieved a lot and laughed at those who ridiculed him in death telling the family to ignore them.

Baryomunsi, the Information minister and government spokesman, communicated the “official funeral programme” in a circular referenced ADM 70/108/01 in which he noted that today’s national prayers at Kololo will start at 10am.
Following the Kololo event,

the body was flown to the deceased’s ancestral home in Rwebikoma in Kazo District, according to a military source, by an army helicopter ahead of the general’s burial there tomorrow, Tuesday.
