The vibrant spirit of sportsmanship and healthy competition came alive on August 26th, 2023, as Kampala Parents’ School hosted its highly anticipated annual sports day at the school’s sports grounds. The participating houses – Kob, Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Crane, and Elephant – brought their A-game to the sports day, participating in a plethora of competitive activities that tested their speed, agility, and cooperation. From traditional races like the 800-metre race and the 50-meter sprint to engaging challenges like obstacle races, sack races, and tag of war, the students exhibited their physical prowess and unwavering enthusiasm throughout the day.
In a tightly contested battle for supremacy, the Kob house emerged as the ultimate winners with an impressive 637 points, closely followed by the Lion house with 611 points. The Leopard and Rhino houses secured third and fourth positions with 603 and 597 points, respectively. While the Crane and Elephant houses secured the sixth and seventh places, their participation and dedication were celebrated just as enthusiastically.
The school’s sports grounds were abuzz with excitement, as parents and fellow students rallied behind the participants, creating an electric atmosphere that motivated every participant to give their best. The event was graced by distinguished guests, Dr. Isabirye Paul, a renowned public health specialist, and SPC Frank Mwesigwa, the deputy director of counter-terrorism. Both guests praised the school for its commitment to holistic education through sports.
