In a significant market move, CFAO Motors Uganda Limited introduces the Toyota Urban Cruiser, the latest addition to Toyota’s SUV lineup. This budget-friendly SUV outshines its competitors, including the Suzuki Grand Vitara, which shares its platform.
Mr. Futsum Yosef, the Technical Training Manager at CFAO Motors Uganda, highlighted the Urban Cruiser’s cutting-edge technology designed for customers seeking comfort, durability, and reliability. The all-new Urban Cruiser seamlessly blends design, performance, and technology to offer consumers the utmost comfort and sophistication in an SUV.
During the vehicle’s much-anticipated unveiling, Fustum stated, “It boasts a fuel-efficient and responsive engine for quick acceleration, as well as advanced technology such as Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD). The interior offers a capacious 328-liter luggage space and a convenient 60/40 rear split.”
Isaac Tegule, Marketing Manager at CFAO Motors Uganda, emphasized that the Urban Cruiser embodies Toyota’s legacy of quality and performance, perfectly tailored to meet Ugandan customers’ evolving needs and aspirations. He added, “It’s not just a means of transportation; it’s an embodiment of Toyota’s legacy and innovation, designed for our discerning Ugandan customers.”

Inside the Urban Cruiser, meticulous attention to detail is evident in its fit-and-finish and tech offerings. The steering wheel provides a more substantial and comfortable grip, and the multifunction buttons offer enhanced quality. Adjustable for both rake and reach, the steering column ensures a premium driving experience, though taller passengers may have limited reach adjustment when seated far back.
In terms of features, the Urban Cruiser impresses with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, automatic climate control, LED headlights and tail lights, cruise control, and the assurance of five airbags, all riding on stylish 17-inch alloy wheels. However, it’s worth noting the absence of wireless charging, with only a solitary USB-C port (though complemented by a nearby 12V port for additional USB connections).
The Urban Cruiser is competitively priced at UGX 120 million, and customers can count on CFAO Motors Uganda’s official dealer to provide a 2-year/50,000km free service package, eliminating routine maintenance burdens. Additionally, the vehicle is backed by a 3-year/100,000 km warranty, a testament to Toyota’s unwavering commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
