The Imara Girl’s Festival 2023 took place triumphantly at Kati Kati Restaurant, Lugogo in Kampala on Saturday, 16th of September, 2023.
This exclusive event spotlighted the creative and entrepreneurial endeavors of women, providing a platform for them to showcase their artistic innovations and various services supporting their livelihoods.

The primary goal of this gathering was to uplift the voices of young girls across the nation, fostering connections with their role models and facilitating interactive sessions to inspire and educate.
Under the theme “Interrogating The Diversity of Spaces for Women in Politics, Economics, Arts, and Business,” the event explored crucial aspects of women’s engagement in diverse domains.

The festival was graced by esteemed guests, including Miss Uganda 2023, Hannah Karema Tumukende, and regional beauty queens who competed alongside her in the Miss Uganda 2023 competition.
Solome Nakaweesi, a Pan-African Feminist Activist and Chairperson at FOWODE, engaged with the young attendees, emphasizing the festival’s role as a platform to unite, connect with role models, articulate ideas, and gain invaluable guidance for navigating the world as women.

To add a vibrant musical dimension to the event, some of Uganda’s prominent female musicians and vocalists, including Naava Grey, Lillian Mbabazi, Karole Kasita, Sandra Sub, Spice Diana, Irene Ntale, and Martha Mukis, graced the stage with spectacular performances, enhancing the festival’s atmosphere and empowering all present.
