KABALE-Healthcare workers across the country have consistently demonstrated exceptional integrity and professionalism while caring for patients in hospitals.
Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, Minister for ICT & National Guidance, who also serves as a Member of Parliament for Kikiiki West, made this statement today during his role as the chief guest at the graduation ceremony of Rugarama School of Nursing and Midwifery when a total of 287 graduates graduated with certificates in Nursing and Midwifery during this event.

The graduation ceremony took place at St. Peter’s Cathedral grounds in Rugarama on Friday, November 3rd, 2023. Dr. Chris B emphasized the importance of health workers providing the best possible services to patients while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. He shared that what motivates healthcare professionals is the application of their knowledge and skills to restore the health of individuals.
Speaking during the same function, Rt. Rev. Gaddi Akanjuna, the Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi urged graduates to uphold professional ethics in their work. He emphasized the importance of making ethics the cornerstone of all their professional interactions, especially in their roles as nurses and midwives. He encouraged them to attentively listen to those seeking medical assistance.
Rugarama School of Nursing and Midwifery, established by the Diocese of Kigezi, commenced operations in November 2013. The school operates under the auspices of the Ugandan government through the Ministry of Education and Sports (BTVET Department) and the Ministry of Health (Uganda Nurse and Midwives Council- UNMC
