RUBANDA –Kick Corruption Out of Uganda yesterday engaged in a transformative Community Dialogue with residents of Bwegyerere cell, Kigyeyo ward, Rubanda Town Council in Rubanda District In a move towards fostering positive change.
During this Dialogue, the organization introduced the Philanthropy for Development Program, aiming to cultivate a spirit of “Giving for Change and Development” within the local community.

The one-day event, held at Bwegyerere Church of Uganda, not only emphasized residents’ roles in the fight against corruption but also delved into presenting community issues, Action Plans, and validations.However, the dialogue uncovered pressing concerns voiced by residents, prominently highlighting a surge in theft cases and the presence of unknown individuals in the area. The rampant theft of animals triggered a collective determination among locals to devise mechanisms to combat this issue.Another significant topic was the perceived segregation in the distribution of government programs within the communities, sparking a dialogue on inclusivity and equal access.
Bernabus Nabasa, the Program Officer at Kick Corruption Out of Uganda, clarified that the purpose of such community dialogues extends beyond addressing immediate concerns. Nabasa emphasized the assessment of citizen engagement levels, its impact on policy-making at different levels, and the review of agreements and responsibilities to strategically plan the way forward.
In the pursuit of a more transparent, equitable, and engaged community, Kick Corruption Out of Uganda reaffirmed its unwavering commitment not only to curb the immediate challenges posed by theft but also to foster positive, lasting change within the fabric of Bwegyerere and beyond.
