Minister of Youth Hon. Balaam Barugahara has endorsed Nakawa West Member of Parliament aspirant Miles Rwamiti and pledged his support in the upcoming elections.
Rwamiti is aiming to unseat incumbent LoP Joel Ssenyonyi.
And now Rwamiti’s bid has got massive boost.
This comes after his former colleagues at NTV Uganda and Spark TV also endorsed his bid ahead of Ssenyonyi also a former workmate.
Balaam was speaking at Sheraton hotel Kampala last evening during EALA aspirant Hon. Juma Witonze’s invite only birthday party.

Hon. Balaam was the guest of honor.
The bash was attended by among others;
Hadijja Namyalo, Hajj Sema, Hon. Mukasa Mbidde, Frank Gashumba, CCounsel Uthuman (office of the President), Publics Opinion’s Adam Luzindana among others.
Hin. Balaam’s endorsement comes weeks after the Coordinator of the Office of National Chairman (ONC) Hajjati Hadijja Namyalo said Forum For Democratic Change (FDC) member Miles Rwamiti “is ours” referring to him crossing to National Resistance Movement (NRM).
Hajjati Namyalo confirmed the rumor weeks ago during Rwamiti’s graduation party at Royal Suites Bugolobi that he had joined NRM.
In her own words, Namyalo said Rwamiti ‘is now ours’ attracting ululations from attendees, including Kampala Central Member of Parliament Hon. Mohammad Nsereko.
Rwamiti who graduated with a Master’s degree in Business Administration (BBA) from Victoria University is set to take on Leader of Opposition (LoP) Joel Ssenyonyi for the Nakawa West Parliamentary seat.
He made his ambitions clear as he spoke to the media expressing his interest in running against National Unity Platform (NUP) incumbent and Leader of Opposition, Hon. Joel Sseyonyi Bisekezi.
And now it’s clear which party card he’ll seek ahead of the 2026 elections which kickoff next year.
For years, Rwamiti has been part of the opposition FDC leaning heavily to the Najanankumbi faction.
However, pals say he has been left frustrated often times by the party leadership who have been described as selfish by many.
But if we are to go by this latest election poster, his frustrations with FDC can well be put to rest.
In the 2021 general election, Rwamiti contested for the Hoima East MP seat on the Federation For Democratic Change (FDC) party card.
Rwamiti believes Nakawa West constituency where he lives and resides is best suited for him.
