Gen. Salim Saleh is not happy with musicians who have been flocking Gulu for Beg-athons and he has since banned them from stalking him for money!
In a penned directive that was published on all social media platforms for the Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), government project to fight poverty which he heads as Chief Coordinator, Gen. Saleh has since tasked Eddy Kenzo to handle all matters relating to musicians henceforth.
Eddy Kenzo is the president, Uganda Musicians Federations (UMF), and according to our sources in Gulu, he is to execute the General’s directives together with Eddy Kirabila, the president, Uganda Socialites Association (USA), an umbrella body for influencers, bloggers and other creatives.
Gen. Saleh’s directive to Eddy Kenzo and Kilabila states thus;

“Presidential Advisor @ Creatives & President Uganda National Musicians’ Associations
Please handle the musicians who are flocking to Gulu for Xmas festivities shows.
They are interfering with my work in Northern Uganda.”
Following the directive, we have learnt that all musicians who have been camping in Gulu with hopes of meeting Gen. Saleh are shedding buckets of tears after their hopes of getting brown envelopes from him being dashed!
We have however also received information that Kilabila, who is also the Coordinator OWC in Kampala, is already in Gulu, where he is mobilizing the musicians to return to Kampala.
“The General is currently so busy with implementing government projects in Northern Uganda like coffee growing and has directed me and Kenzo to handle this matter,” Kilabila told reporter in Gulu.
“Because of his busy schedule He has ordered the musicians, socialites and promoters to reach out to their respective federations and associations to present their requests an or grievances. No more meeting him individually, ” he added.
This development has however left many musicians, socialites and influencers who had invested in the Gulu trip counting losses since many of them them had been given high hopes and promised big things by the brokers of the meetings with the General.
All said and done, it is important to note that Gen. Saleh has been supportive of the music and creatives industry over the years, and extended financial support to several artists’ associations through the OWC poverty alleviation programs.
