Kampala, Uganda – Vipers FC is devastated to announce the sudden passing of their Nigerian midfielder, Abubakar Lawal. Lawal tragically lost his life in a motor accident on Entebbe Road early Monday morning.
The club released a statement, saying: “We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden and untimely passing of our beloved player, Abubakar Lawal… Our thoughts and prayers are with Lawal’s family, club fans, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.”
Lawal joined Vipers FC in July 2022 from Rwanda’s AS Kigali and played a crucial role in the team’s success, winning the league and Uganda Cup in the 2022/23 season.
