Rubanda-Jovinoro Muhimbise, a voter from Bushure village, Mpungu parish, Hamurwa sub county , Rubanda district is crying for help over what she described as harassment due to her royal support for Kenneth Jogo Biryabarema, who is contesting in the race for the Rubanda East parliamentary seat under the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket.
Speaking during a campaign rally of Jogo at Bushure in Mpungu parish, Hamurwa sub county, Muhimbise says on Monday this week, two people entered into her home, defaced and took away a campaign photo of Jogo. She says people also broke a glass and threatened her for supporting Jogo.
Muhimbise says the act has left her very worried. She calls on security authorities and other concerned Ugandans to intervene since she deserves a right to support a candidate of her choice. Jogo advised her to report to nearest police station so that the matter be followed up legally.
Other voters also used the same platform to appeal to Jogo to advocate for extension of safe water and electricity in the area once voted to parliament.
