This year’s Paint & Win edition, themed “The Colours of Excitement,” is sweeping across Uganda with stories of hope, joy, and renewed possibility. Now in its seventh week, the campaign has already produced dozens of winners. By Week 7 alone, 42 customers had claimed prizes through live draws, among them seven new motorcycle owners, while hundreds more have walked away with instant rewards during activations across Kampala and upcountry towns.
What began as a simple paint purchase has unfolded into a movement revealing how colour, opportunity, and community spirit can uplift lives.
Take the story of Edward Mubiru, a farmer from Lwengo. He had saved just enough to repaint his ageing home and walked into a nearby hardware shop with modest expectations. He barely paid attention to the scratch cards attached to his paint tins, pocketing them absentmindedly as he continued making calls to clients, each call unknowingly entering him into the Paint & Win draw.
Days later, Mubiru received a call that seemed too good to be true: he had won UGX 1.6 million. For the father and caretaker, the money brought more than excitement; it brought relief. The prize eased the financial pressure he had been quietly carrying, allowing him to clear school fees and reinvest in his farm.
Mubiru is just one of the many touched by Plascon’s Paint & Win Season 14, a nationwide initiative that goes beyond promoting colour to transforming everyday lives. The team has travelled across districts, visited hardware shops, engaged painters, rewarded dealers, and given ordinary buyers the chance to win instant prizes, motorcycles, and life-changing cash.
During the launch of the edition, Plascon Managing Director Santosh Gumte emphasised the heart behind the initiative. “Every tin of Plascon paint is not just colour on a wall,” he said. “It is happiness, vibrancy, and inspiration, an opportunity for our consumers to feel supported and uplifted in meaningful ways.”
Gerald Mutabazi, a professional builder from Kyengera, described his win as an unexpected breakthrough. After receiving a cash prize and a motorcycle, he shared that transport challenges had long strained his work and finances. The motorcycle will now ease his daily movements, while the cash will help him boost productivity on his small farm.
From Masaka to Gulu, Arua to Mbale, and Mbarara to Kampala, the promotion has ignited a wave of excitement. Crowds gather at activation points; painters arrive in their overalls with paint-splattered hands; shopkeepers celebrate the surge of customers driven by both colour and hope. Each draw unveils new faces and stories, quiet transformations unfolding behind the scenes.
Among the notable highlights of this year’s edition is the brand-new Tuk Tuks that are a part of the top prizes. In Week 6, Kansai Plascon awarded the first Tuk Tuk to Irene Tushabe, who had earlier won cash in the daily draws. Her win marks a milestone moment, especially as the campaign’s excitement continues to rise.
Under the current structure, six winners walk away with UGX 1 million each every day. These six then compete in a weekly live draw for a brand-new motorcycle. The remaining five that don’t win the motorcycle automatically enter a second draw for the grand prize, a Tuktuk. Tushabe’s triumph has energised customers across the country, with many eagerly anticipating the second Tuktuk, set to be handed over in Week 10, the final week of the promotion.
To date, the promotion has rewarded over 42 winners with cash and motorcycles, and even more prizes are lined up as the campaign pushes into new districts.
For business owners like David Oyite Oyok in Soroti, the timing of the win is perfect. With Christmas season approaching, he plans to use his prize to restock his business, support his family, and prepare for the end-of-year rush. He believes the money will double by the start of the year, giving his enterprise the momentum it needs.
