The UPDF Engineers Brigade is putting the finishing touches on a two-classroom block at Kanyankwanzi Primary School in Kabale. The project, which began on November 16, 2025, is 72% complete, with plastering almost done and painting and flooring left to go.

Acting Site Engineer, Warrant Officer Two Byekwaso Robert, said the team faced challenges after demolishing the old structure, requiring hardcore to stabilize the ground. “In two weeks’ time, up to December 28, we shall be able to hand over the completed structure,” he said, noting that local casual laborers benefited from the project.

Reverend Robert Byarugaba, Parish Priest of Bukoora Church of Uganda, praised the UPDF’s work, saying the community is excited about the new, permanent building. The project is expected to be handed over to the end users on January 6, 2025.
