The Directorate of CID in close coordination with the Directorate of Forensic, have established 12 other cases that are linked to a one Olimu Charles SIPAPA. This new development arose after his fingerprints and DNA samples, were across our Databases and scientifically matched.

This implies that the accused was one of the perpetrators at the respective scenes of crime in Bugolobi, Kabalagala, Kira road, Jinja road, Kiwatule, Ntinda and Kyanja Jomayi, among others.
The crimes stretch from the year 2014 – 2022. The task team is arranging to interrogate him on the string of alleged burglaries and theft and further submit the case files, to the DPP for legal guidance.
The Criminal investigations Division at Kibuli arrested city socialite Olimi Charles alias Sipapa for alleged aggravated robbery of USD 429000 (around shs1.6 billion) and other items from a South Sudan national.

According to police, the incident happened between 28th and 29th August 2022 at the home of Jacob Alop a South Sudanese national and resident of Kawuku, Bunga in Makindye division.
Fred Enanga the police spokesperson said that intelligence teams tracked down the Icloud of one of the Iphones which indicated that they were being hidden in Sipapa’s Home in Buwaate Kira Municipality Wakiso district.
Enanga noted that when a search was conducted in the home, several stolen items were recovered including cash totaling US Dollars 70,000 out of 429000 stolen that night, two number plates, UBG 025B, UBA 023U and assortments of car accessories as well as two other cars that had been resprayed from original colours to red including a Jeep and an Audi without number plates.

He further added that when the search was being conducted in the presence of Sipapa’s wife Nakiyimba Shamirah, she tried to conceal the 70000 us dollars in one of the shoes, while other items were recovered under her bed. Enanga revealed that they have so far arrested four suspects including Nakiyimba who were found in the house during the search as they continue to hunt for Sipapa who was last seen in Tororo where he was distributing money.
