NTUNGAMO-Four people have been confirmed dead following last evening’s fatal accident along the Kabale-Mbarara Highway in Ntungamo District.
SP Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi region Police spokesperson told our reporter last evening that the fatal accident took place at Omukenyanya between Rwahi and Rwentobo towns.
He noted that a FUSO Fighter Registration Number UBE 170C, which was transporting timber, driven by Opio Lawrence, a resident of Amagoro in Tororo District who died on spot, experienced a tire burst, and veered off the road killing all the occupants in the lorry’s cabin.
Kasasira identified the other deceased persons as Birungi Frank, a resident of Kitwe Town Council in Ntungamo district, Maduk Deng Ayuk, a South Sudan national, and another unidentified man.

Kasasira adds that the bodies of the deceased have since been conveyed to Kisiizi Hospital for postmortem while the vehicle was towed to Rubaare Police Station pending inspection.
