Since atleast 2020, Swangz Avenue singer Vinka real name Veronica Luggya has been officially married.
That is about the time she introduced her fiance to her parent’s home. Since then, he has been known as a legitimate businessman who has showered Vinka with all kinds of pompous gifts including expensive cars.
The man is known as Nelson ‘Nelly’ Witta, a former student at Kampala International University.
Nelly is a huge fan and member of the ruling party, the National Resistance Movement, and in 2021, he lost in the race for the Isingiro South Member of Parliament seat.

He is also said to be a businessman and CEO of Witta Investments and also owns several other businesses around Kampala.
Well, this is what the public knows or has been fed on. But now our sources tell us Vinka’s Nelly is a gold fraudster and deals with some of the biggest gold scammers in Uganda and Dubai where he’s a regular.
The pair now has a healthy daughter who was welcomed to the world in January 2020 and they ate focused on developing each other.
Vinka is on a 6 months’ break off the social scene and it was reported last week that during that maternity leave, we won’t be seeing her perform anywhere.
In 2019, Nelly was arrested in a gold deal gone bad alongside one the biggest dealers identified as Sam Bucyana.
The pair alongside another person were arrested in connection with shady gold deals and charged before the Makindye based General Court Martial over unlawful possession of a firearm.
Buchana and Nelly’s appearance in the army court came shortly after their lawyer appeared in the afternoon before a High Court judge for a Habeas Corpus Ad Subjiciendum seeking for their release from an unknown detention facility or be presented before any competent court after spending four days in custody.
The prosecution alleges that on August 16, while at Buziga in Makindye Division in Kampala, Buchana and Nelly were found with unlawful possession of a pistol which is a monopoly of the defence forces.
It is also alleged that at the time of their arrest, Buchana and Nelly were found in possession of 18 rounds of 9mm caliber live ammunition which are ordinarily a monopoly of the defence forces.
A week prior, security operatives attached to the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) has arrested Buchana, Vinka’s Nelly and another person over allegations of conning foreigners in shady gold deals.
Sources say that Nelly and group were arrested on allegations of defrauding a businessman, a non-Ugandan, of $500,000 (about1.8b).
