Billionaire businessman Sudhir Ruparelia has spoken out (publicly ( for the first time following the death of his beloved son, Rajiv.

Sudhir has been mourning the loss of his son, Rajiv Ruparelia, who tragically died in a car accident on May 3, 2025, along the Munyonyo-Entebbe Expressway. Rajiv, 35, was the Managing Director of the Ruparelia Group, a vast business empire founded by his father, with interests in real estate, hospitality, education, and finance.
The accident occurred at around 1:54 a.m. when the Nissan GTR Rajiv was driving overturned and burst into flames at the Busabala Flyover traffic lights in Makindye-Ssabagabo, Wakiso District. Police confirmed that Rajiv died on the spot.

Taking to Facebook, Sudhir said his son would live in forever.
He wrote: “Rajiv Ruparelia you are always going to live in our Heart Forever. RIP
Rest In peace forever.”

The Ruparelia family announced that Rajiv will be cremated on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the Hindu Crematorium in Lugogo, Kampala, at 2:30 p.m. A vigil is ongoing at their Kololo residence, and the family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
