Rubanda-Following her victory in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) primaries, Hon. Prossy Akampulira Begumisa Mbabazi, the Woman Member of Parliament for Rubanda District and Commissioner of the Parliament of Uganda, has pledged to continue serving all residents of Rubanda without discrimination.
Hon. Prossy addressed jubilant supporters at her home in Karengyere, Muko Sub-county, expressing deep gratitude for the overwhelming support she received across the district.
She described her victory as a symbol of unity and a vote of confidence from people of all walks of life, regardless of background, region, or political leaning.”I was elected by the people not by tribe, religion, or social status and I will serve everyone equally,” she said. “Rubanda needs unity, not division. Let us reject identity-based politics and work together for the continued development of our district.”
As part of her post-election agenda, Hon. Prossy reaffirmed her commitment to women’s empowerment, announcing the continuation of her flagship program, Prosperous Women Rubanda.
The initiative, which promotes skills development, economic empowerment, and community support for women, will resume activities in August, starting in Hamurwa Town Council.“The program will continue reaching out to every corner of Rubanda,” she noted. “Our aim is to equip women with the tools they need to improve their lives and uplift their communities.”
She also called on her supporters to stay united, prayerful, and focused as the district prepares for the 2026 general elections, urging them to walk with her “all the way to the finish line.
“Hon. Prossy’s message of inclusive leadership and grassroots empowerment resonated with attendees, many of whom praised her track record and dedication to community service.
Her reelection as the NRM flag bearer positions her as a strong contender in the forthcoming general elections.
