Kabale – Ndorwa County West MP hopeful Matsiko Gilbert Bigwera has pledged to support sports as a tool to promote health, unity, and cooperation for the development of the constituency.
Bigwera made the remarks today while officiating at a friendly football match between Bukora Parish and Katenga Parish held at Katenga Primary School playground in Kamuganguzi Sub County, Kabale District.
He noted that just as players work together during a match, residents must also cooperate if they want to achieve meaningful development in their communities.
Bigwera, whose campaign symbol is a football match, vowed to develop sports and take it to the next level as part of his political agenda.“Sports brings people together, and that unity fosters peace and prosperity,” he emphasized.
Bigwera, who also contested in the 2021 general elections, declared that he is determined to contest again in the forthcoming polls.
He called on residents of Ndorwa West to rally behind his candidacy, promising to focus on education, household development, and lobbying for community initiatives that will improve livelihoods.
“I am committed to serving the people of Ndorwa West and ensuring that our communities prosper,” he said.
Katenga Parish emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over Bukora Parish.
Notably, Hon. Bigwera generously sponsored the team, providing essential equipment such as jerseys and footballs, thereby showcasing his dedication to nurturing local talent.
