The stage is set, the dancers have battled for their spots, and Kampala is preparing for one final showdown.
After a week of activations, qualifiers and creative exchanges, Red Bull Dance Your Style Uganda will culminate on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Motiv, Kampala, where Uganda’s finest freestyle dancers will battle for the national title.

Entry to the finale is free, opening the floor to dance lovers, music enthusiasts and anyone looking to experience a night built around movement, creativity and self-expression.
The road to the final has already taken the competition into some of Uganda’s most vibrant youth spaces. Activations at Makerere University and MUBS gave students and young creatives an opportunity to engage with the Red Bull Dance Your Style experience while celebrating freestyle dance culture.

The intensity rose on August 28 at Somewhere Else, where Kampala’s qualifiers delivered head-to-head battles as dancers fought for a place in the national final.
Unlike conventional dance competitions where routines are often prepared in advance, Red Bull Dance Your Style thrives on unpredictability. Dancers face off one-on-one, across different dance styles, while responding to unexpected music. There are no elaborate rehearsed routines to hide behind—the ability to adapt, create and command the moment becomes just as important as technical skill.

And there is another twist: the crowd decides.
The audience plays a central role in determining who advances, making every battle as much a test of connection as it is of choreography. A dancer may have the sharpest moves in the room, but winning over the crowd can ultimately make the difference.
The programme continued on August 29 with a dance workshop led by Verb, giving participants an opportunity to sharpen their skills, exchange ideas and learn beyond the competitive floor.

Now, all roads lead to Motiv on September 5.
The national final will bring together dancers who have survived the qualifiers for an evening of freestyle battles, music and high-energy performances. With the audience once again holding the power to determine the winners of individual battles, the competition promises plenty of surprises.
At its heart, Red Bull Dance Your Style is about more than finding the dancer with the best moves. It is a celebration of individuality—the freedom to respond to music instinctively, develop a personal style and communicate without saying a word.

For Uganda’s growing dance community, the finale also offers a spotlight to a culture that continues to evolve. Established dancers and emerging performers will share the same floor, giving new talent a chance to test itself against some of the country’s more experienced names.
After a week of taking dance to campuses, bringing dancers together for workshops and putting competitors through the pressure of one-on-one battles, the journey now reaches its defining moment.
On September 5, the music will play, the dancers will take the floor and Kampala’s crowd will have the final say.
