Kampala Corporate Women Cooperative Society Limited (KCW SACCO) will host the KCW SACCO Run 2026 on Saturday, 7th November 2026, at the Lugogo MTN Arena as part of the national commemorations of World Savings Day.
Themed “AI Advises, Human Decides — Saving is Our Choice,” the run will bring together SACCO members, corporate partners, and the general public for a 5km and 10km timed run through the scenic Kololo Hills, in support of vulnerable women-led households in Katanga and Kawempe slums.
Scheduled from 6:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m, the event will go beyond fitness to include financial literacy talks and exhibitions, offering participants practical guidance on saving, budgeting, and the responsible use of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence in personal financial management.
Registration is UGX 45,000, inclusive of a branded vest and bag. The SACCO targets approximately 400 participants.
All proceeds will directly support the savings capacity and economic resilience of women-led households in Katanga and Kawempe — two of Kampala’s most economically vulnerable communities.
The initiative is anchored in Uganda’s Third National Development Plan (NDP III), Vision 2040, and the National Financial Inclusion Strategy, and contributes to SDGs 1 (No Poverty), 5 (Gender Equality), and 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
