This week’s hype has been up there with the ongoing international event Nyege Nyege.

Nyege Nyege is according to wikipidia, a collective in Kampala, Uganda that promotes outsider music, primarily electronic by African artists.

It was founded in 2013 by expats Arlen Dilsizian and Derek Debru. In addition to organizing ongoing parties and an artist residency the collective runs two record labels and a multi-day annual festival. Its name refers to a Luganda word describing “a sudden, uncontrollable urge to dance.”

Because of this annual event, Revellers worldwide have flocked Uganda well after the Ugandan parliament gave it a green light.

Considering that most hotels had been fully booked, the event organisers offered accommodation to revellers travelling from far and beyond.

This included tents, mattresses and other toiletries that most service providers to the event offered. In this year’s edition to add on the tents, wooden camp houses were added.

However, this morning, social media has seen mixed reactions from revellers sharing what they experienced on the first day, with the majority sharing dissatisfaction on mainly twitter.
