Private Ruhamya Kainerugaba, son of the Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has graduated from the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom.
In May, Gen Muhoozi announced on X that his son was at the prestigious school, posting photos of his son in training and writing:
“Father and son are going through the same hardships. Separated by 27 years. God bless Ruhamya.”
Gen Muhoozi himself is an alumnus of Sandhurst, having graduated from the academy 27 years ago.
Founded over 200 years ago, Sandhurst is one of the world’s leading military academies. It trains officer cadets from around the world, with emphasis on leadership, discipline, and decision-making under pressure.
Notable alumni include Winston Churchill, Prince William, Prince Harry, King Abdullah II of Jordan, and several former presidents and generals from across the globe.
The graduation adds Ruhamya to a long list of Ugandan officers who have trained at Sandhurst and gone on to serve in the UPDF.
The UPDF and the Kainerugaba family have not yet announced Ruhamya’s next deployment.
