NBS TV’s Brian Makona fighting for life after Fatal Crash, 2 colleagues dead

NBS TV presenter Brian Makona is fighting for his life in hospital after a fatal road accident on Entebbe Road that claimed the lives of two of his colleagues.

Police have confirmed that Badru Kasirye and Isaac Ndamagye, both employees of Next Media, died at the scene of the crash.

The accident occurred today, 7th August 2026 at about 2:00 a.m. at Namulanda, near Stabex along Entebbe Road.

It involved two vehicles: UA 779DE, Toyota Allex and UAS 976W, Toyota Hilux.

According to preliminary investigations, the driver of the Toyota Hilux, UAS 976W, which was travelling from Entebbe towards Kampala, allegedly lost control and drifted into the opposite lane while approaching the Stabex area at Namulanda.

The Hilux then collided head-on with the oncoming Toyota Allex, UA 779DE.

As a result, Kasirye and Ndamagye died on the spot. Brian Makona sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital for medical treatment.

Police say the exact circumstances and cause of the crash remain under investigation and further details will be communicated once inquiries are concluded.

In a statement, police extended “heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of the deceased and wish the injured victim a quick and full recovery.”

Next Media and NBS TV are yet to release an official statement on the incident.
