At the show, Charles Kasozi (his real names) sent his fan into stiches while trying to explain why he would never join the Islam faith. He said that he sees the Islam as a money saver religion since moslem men occasionally shave beards and women don’t invest much in beauty makeups such as plaiting hair. He also addded that it is very hard to find a mosque equipped with modern sound systems as their Pentecostal counterparts do. He only sees Public Addresss speakers locally known as ‘Mukalakasa’.
Mariach has often been a locally sought for comedian.
Though many cracked their ribs on it, it didn’t go down well with the muslim community that forced some leaders hinting on it during the week’s Jumah sermons.
To win back the hearts of his muslim fans, Mariach has made a public apology to all those he offended in one way or the other. He made this through a video recording that he posted on his socials.
MC Mariach now joins the list other comedians who have faced the wrath of the commnunity over offensive jokes such as comedians Reign and Maulana who apologized to Buganda Kingdom over a distasteful joke and Andrew Benon Kibuuka who was forced to change his Muslim character of Hajji Bumali to Dube Ssempaata some years back, after Muslims complained about misrepresentation.
