Victoria University celebrated its 7th graduation ceremony at Kololo Independence Grounds, honoring the accomplishments of 458 graduates who have successfully earned their degrees.

Representing the First Lady and Minister of Education, Janet Museveni, Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, commended the university for its unwavering dedication to innovation. Tayebwa stressed the pressing need to foster innovation, highlighting that traditional approaches would no longer suffice.

Furthermore, Tayebwa disclosed Parliament’s intention to engage in dialogues aimed at enhancing the relevance and impact of Ugandan education.

Dr. Lawrence Muganga, the Vice Chancellor, emphasized the pivotal role of technology in education. He described the graduates as not only proficient in technology but also as digital pioneers well-prepared for the demands of the job market. Muganga reassured the public that a degree from Victoria University was not just a mere credential but a gateway to a promising future.

H. E. Sheik Manssour Bin Mussallam, the Secretary-General of the Organisation of Southern Cooperation, underscored the importance of education aligning with future visions. He urged the development of regional indigenous technologies that are open source and culturally relevant.

Among the 458 graduates were notable media personalities, Faridah Nakazibwe and Anna Talia Oze. Nakazibwe earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration, while Annatalia celebrated her graduation with a Master’s degree in Diplomacy and International Studies.
