The Electoral Commission has announced that the display exercise for special interest groups, including persons with disabilities, youth, and older persons, will continue until May 15, 2025. According to Julius Mucunguzi, spokesperson for the Electoral Commission.
“The Electoral Commission would like to inform the general public that the display exercise for persons with disability, the youth, and older persons who constitute the special interest groups will continue from the 9th of May 2025 and conclude on the 15th of May 2025.”
Mucunguzi emphasized the importance of this exercise, stating: “We call upon the public and we call upon especially persons with disability, the youth, and older persons to take advantage of this period to ensure that you go to your villages and check the particulars on your particular voters register to make sure that only the right people are on that voters register and those that need to be there are reported for removal.”
The Electoral Commission has also informed the public that the display exercise for the National Voters Register will conclude on May 15, 2025. Mucunguzi encouraged the public to verify their information, saying: “We call upon the public, we call upon the voters, we call upon the leaders to inform their people to go to their polling stations and check the particulars on their voting locations at their polling stations.”
The Electoral Commission’s staff will be available at polling stations from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, including weekends and public holidays, to facilitate this process.
