Kabale-As the race for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party flag bearer heats up in Ndorwa East County, Kabale District, Counsel Elvis Twenda, a parliamentary aspirant, has called on voters to clearly differentiate between the upcoming party primaries and the national general elections scheduled for next year.
Twenda made the remarks during a campaign rally held in Nyakatare Cell, Kyanamira Sub-county, as he continued his outreach to mobilize support ahead of the NRM primaries set for July 17.
He cautioned the electorate against being misled by some politicians who, he said, are confusing the public by portraying themselves as already elected Members of Parliament. “These are just party primaries. We are here to choose an NRM flag bearer who will go on to contest in the national general election. Do not be misled by anyone claiming victory before the time,” Twenda stated.
He urged voters to support credible and capable leaders who will not only win the party flag but also succeed in the general elections and deliver meaningful change. “We need leaders who will represent Ndorwa East with dignity and bring back its lost glory at the national level,” he emphasized.
Twenda reaffirmed his commitment to servant leadership, promising to prioritize service delivery, especially in education, health, and economic empowerment.

He outlined a vision of socio-economic transformation rooted in accountability, development-oriented policies, and people-centered governance.“I am not here to make empty promises. I am here to work with you to transform Ndorwa East. Together, we can uplift our communities through better education, improved healthcare, and sustainable economic opportunities,” he added.
Twenda’s message continues to resonate with many voters, especially those seeking honest and development-driven representation in the next Parliament.
