Rubanda District — In a surprising turn of events Saturday 12/07/2025, residents of Nyakanengo in Ruhonwa Parish, Hamurwa sub-county, have opted not to attend a consultative meeting organized by the incumbent Rubanda East Member of Parliament and the state minister for finance (General Duties), Hon. Henry Musasizi.

The meeting, intended as a platform for dialogue and feedback on service delivery, was met with an empty hall, reflecting growing dissatisfaction among constituents where it was scheduled for a political campaign as he is seeking re-election for the same sit but Hon. Musasizi faced an unexpected challenge as community members expressed their discontent through non-attendance.

Local sources indicate that the primary reason for this boycott was the perceived lack of transparency and tangible progress in service delivery during his termResidents have voiced concerns over several unfulfilled promises, including infrastructure development, healthcare improvements, and educational advancements where many feel that these critical areas have seen little to no improvement, despite assurances from their elected representative.

The absence of attendees at the meeting underscores a broader sentiment of frustration and calls into question the effectiveness of current leadership in addressing local needs where community leaders have urged Hon. Musasizi to take immediate action to rebuild trust and demonstrate accountability through concrete results.

In response, Hon. Musasizi failed to comment since his known phone numbers were not available as our reporter was filing the story.
