Kabale District Conducts a Peaceful NRM Elections Held in as New Youth, PWDs, and Elders’ Leaders Emerge

Kabale-The Kabale District Vice Registrar, Medard Ntegyereize, has commended voters representing Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), the elderly, and youth for conducting peaceful and fair elections during the ongoing National Resistance Movement (NRM) party elections held today at Kabale National Teachers’ College (NTC).

Ntegyereize lauded the calm atmosphere and orderly voting process, emphasizing that the elections were free, fair, and a model for future electoral activities.

He encouraged all candidates contesting in the upcoming elections scheduled for August 14 to emulate the same spirit of peace and unity.In the hotly contested youth leadership positions, Kiconco Kennedy emerged victorious as the Kabale District NRM Youth Chairperson, defeating Timothy with 29 votes to 17.

Meanwhile, Twesigomwe Trust was elected **Youth Secretary for Finance at the national level, in a tightly contested race. In the female youth category, Jackline Twinamatsiko defeated Tricket by 29 votes to 15 to become the Kabale District Female Youth Representative.

For the elderly league, Komukama Julius triumphed over Yosam Baguma Banya** by 16 votes to 3 to become the Kabale District Elderly Chairperson.

Kabakiraho was elected Vice Secretary for Elders unopposed.

In the PWDs category, Night Grace was elected unopposed as Chairperson for Persons with Disabilities, while Nyesiga William became Secretary for Finance for PWDs, and Tindibasa Mary was also elected unopposed.

Speaking to the media after the results were declared, both Twesigomwe Trust and Jackline Twinamatsiko pledged to serve with dedication, promote accountability, and act as a bridge between youth and leadership. They vowed to be the voice for voiceless young people across the region.

Night Grace and Kamara Gelesiano, newly elected General Secretary for Elders, thanked supporters for their trust and promised to focus on addressing pressing issues affecting PWDs and the elderly in the community.

The elections are part of the broader NRM party internal polls to elect delegates and representatives ahead of the general election cycle.
