Uganda football giants KCCA FC have announced the signing of winger Ssali Alpha Thierry from NEC FC.

The 21 year old has penned a two year deal with the Cityzens, committing his future to the club until 2027.
Ssali, a former U20 national team player who proudly represented Uganda at two AFCON U20 finals in 2021 and 2023, brings pace and versatility to KCCA FC attacking options, capable of operating on either the right or left flank.
Alpha’s arrival at Lugogo carries a deep significance, as he is the grandson of ‘Mister’ Jaberi Bidandi Ssali, a respected figure and one of the founding members of KCCA FC in 1963.
Bidandi Ssali was key in establishing KCCA FC, as his vision and efforts laid the groundwork for the club’s success and rich history.

“For KCCA FC, having ‘Mister’ Jaberi Bidandi Ssali’s grandson wear the yellow and blue jersey is more than just a new signing but a continuation of a cherished legacy. It represents the deep roots and generational connection that bind the club to its origins and inspire future generations,” the club announced.
Ssali Alpha Thierry shared his excitement upon his signing.
“It is a dream come true to join KCCA FC, a club with such an incredible history and one that my family has a huge attachment to. I feel a special connection here, and I am ready to compete with my mates and help the team win,” he said.
Co-Head Coach Brian Ssenyondo had this to say about the new addition.
Alpha is a player with huge potential and a fantastic attitude. His ability to play on both wings gives us great flexibility. We are confident he will be a key asset for us, and it is truly special to have a part of the Ssali legacy back in the KCCA FC family.
Tom Lwanga, a KCCA FC legend and board member, spoke to this website on Ssali Alpha.
“Having Ssali Alpha Thierry, the grandson of ‘Mister’ Jaberi Bidandi Ssali, join KCCA FC upholds Mister’s rich legacy. It connects a new generation of talent to the club’s foundational history and pays homage to the man who was crucial in the club’s initial success.”
Ssali Alpha Thierry becomes the club’s sixth major signing in the current transfer window after Ivan Ahimbisibwe, Herbert Achayi, Lazaro Muhindo, Enock Walusimbi, and Rogers Mugisha.
‘Mister’ Jaberi Bidandi Ssali is a respected figure in the history of KCCA FC. He is a founding member of the club and served as its head coach and team manager from the late 1960s to the early 1990s.
He was key in the club’s growth, guiding it to major titles and developing top players who became the core of the Uganda Cranes national team in the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
