Kabale- Aspiring Member of Parliament for Ndorwa East, Counsel Elvis Twenda, has urged voters to reject what he described as “baseless propaganda” intended to derail his campaign ahead of the highly anticipated National Resistance Movement (NRM) party primaries set for July 17.
Speaking to residents of Kyanamira Sub County during a vibrant campaign rally, Twenda firmly denied allegations that he is merely a political pawn positioned to secure the NRM flag without a genuine intention to contest in the 2026 general elections.“I am a man of integrity and cannot be bought or influenced by fellow politicians,” Twenda declared.
“Such propaganda is intended to tarnish my name and mislead the electorate. I urge my opponents to engage in clean, respectful, and issue-based campaigns—not hatred and lies.”
Twenda, a respected legal practitioner with a strong background in advocacy and community leadership, reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, truth, and dignity in public service.
He called on his supporters to remain focused and united, emphasizing that his campaign is anchored in service, not self-interest.Addressing the chronic underdevelopment in Ndorwa East, Twenda attributed the region’s challenges to previous electoral choices that, in his view, favored candidates who lacked alignment with the NRM’s national development agenda.
“For years, Ndorwa East has lagged behind because we failed to elect leaders who understand and support the NRM vision,” he stated.
“This election is our opportunity to revive the NRM’s presence and lay a firm foundation for meaningful development in our communities.”
Twenda’s remarks were met with enthusiastic applause from the gathered crowd, many of whom expressed renewed optimism in his ability to bring transformation to the constituency. Community members hailed his message of unity and development, with several pledging their full support as the primary date draws near.
With just days left to the NRM primaries, Twenda continues to gain momentum, positioning himself as a credible and committed candidate ready to lead Ndorwa East into a new era of progress under the NRM banner.
