Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijja Namyalo, has returned to Uganda after a successful working visit to South Africa.

The trip, part of her ongoing mobilisation efforts for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), focused on strengthening ties with Ugandans living in the diaspora and rallying support for the party’s development agenda. While in South Africa, Hajjat Namyalo inaugurated a fully equipped legal office to serve Ugandans residing there.

The facility, staffed with qualified lawyers, will provide free legal assistance to community members facing various challenges.

According to Hajjat Namyalo, many Ugandans in South Africa encounter difficulties such as workplace discrimination, xenophobia, and other legal hurdles that hinder their safety and well-being.

“The NRM believes in protecting and empowering all Ugandans, wherever they are,” she said during the launch, emphasising the importance of standing in solidarity with citizens abroad. She urged Ugandans in the diaspora to remain united, support each other, and stay engaged with the development programs back home.

Her visit also featured meetings with community leaders, youth groups, and professionals to discuss opportunities for investment and collaboration between Uganda and its diaspora. Participants welcomed the legal office as a much-needed intervention and commended Hajjat Namyalo’s commitment to addressing their concerns.Hajjat Namyalo’s South Africa mission has been hailed as a step forward in strengthening NRM’s relationship with the diaspora, while also reinforcing the government’s dedication to the welfare of all Ugandans, both at home and abroad.
