Earlier in the day, the Western Regional Election Officer, Beine Robert, cautioned candidates to respect time and strictly adhere to nomination guidelines to ensure a smooth process.
He said some aspirants assumed they could arrive late or without the required documents and still be nominated, but stressed that this was not the case. Beine emphasized that candidates had to keep time and come prepared to make the work of the returning officer and his team easier.
He further reminded candidates who had not yet appeared for nominations to carefully study and comply with the set regulations to avoid unnecessary delays or possible disqualification.
On technical concerns raised by some aspirants regarding invalid National Identification Numbers (NINs) that did not tally with names, Beine assured the public that the commission’s machines had since been stabilized and were functioning properly, easing the verification process.
